Nicole Comis Coaching
Coaching is how I transformed my life and
how I help people transform theirs!
Coaching helped me go from being an insecure, people-pleaser, workaholic, and perfectionist who was busy being who I thought everyone else wanted me to be to stepping into my power, becoming authentically confident in who I am, and living my life for me – with intention, gratitude, and balance.
Coaching is also how I went from:
While this page shares a little about my story, it's really about why I dedicated my life to learning how to support people like you to live their most happy, healthy and balanced lives.
Coaching is also how I went from:
- Focusing on everything that was wrong with me to looking in the mirror and loving the person staring back at me
- Having a negative mindset and saying and thinking things like “Of course, this BS happend to me” to being super positive and optimistic
- Terrified of public speaking to it becoming a part of my business model. I remember the first time I stepped on stage to speak in front of a 300-person audience – I had butterflies but was totally confident and loved every one of the 60 minutes of it!
- Living on autopilot and fueled by fear to living with intention and from my vision and values
- Believing that vulnerability was weakness on steroids to developing deep, connected relationships on the foundation of vulnerability and trust

Meet Nicole!
Hi, I’m Nicole Comis, a Life + Mindset Coach who helps people become the best version of themselves so they can live their most AH-MAZING life — whatever that looks like for them.
If you ask people what they want most in life, many will say, "I just want to be happy!" but very few of us spend time thinking about what that means to us or how to make it happen.
We often believe that our happiness is based on external things like making money, a successful career, or finding the perfect relationship. We chase after these "things," thinking that they are the answer to finding happiness.
But what happens if those "things" go away?!?
I had a super successful career in the mortgage business but when the housing market crashed, so did I. HARD!
The problem was, my happiness was based on my circumstances and what I had, rather than on who I was.

I had a super successful career in the mortgage business but when the housing market crashed, so did I. HARD!
The problem was, my happiness was based on my circumstances and what I had, rather than on who I was.
Here's my story.
I struggled with low self-esteem ever since I was a kid. It was the work I did with a life coach that helped me build up my self-confidence and begin to love myself.
I was a couple of years into my career in the mortgage business when a friend of mine started working with a life coach. In just a few weeks, I saw her transform before my eyes.
I’d never heard of a “life coach” before but I knew I needed whatever she was doing!
I didn’t really know why at the time – nothing was “wrong.” I was happy (well, so I thought, but more on that later). I had a beautiful home and an awesome BMW convertible, I was making a ton of money, winning incentive trips, going out to nice dinners, and having a lot of fun. And I has a successful career I loved.
I’m not kidding – I loved my career. And I loved going to work every day – coaching, educating, and guiding my clients. I loved the company I worked for – I seriously thought I was going to spend the rest of my life as a mortgage planner working for my boss.
Working with a life coach, I grew personally and professionally.
In those two years, I grew my business, created goals for the first time, healed a lot of crap from my past, and started to learn who I was.
It was a game-changer to have someone to talk to openly and honestly, that helped me process my feelings and not feel alone – especially when it came to work. Even though my boss was incredibly supportive and one of my biggest cheerleaders, I was afraid to go to him with my problems. I didn’t want him to think I couldn’t cut it or worry that I would quit. Hello, limiting beliefs – I had a lot of them!
I had tunnel vision. I was all about Goals! Goals! Goals! Achieve! Achieve! Achieve! Money! Money! Money!
I had a five-year plan to bust my ass and grow my business. After that, I could slow down and focus on the other areas of my life, like taking a vacation without being attached to my phone or laptop.
I didn’t realize it at the time, but I loved my career so much that I let it define who I was – I put my living my life on hold for my career.
And when the housing market crashed in 2008 – my career, happiness, and identity crashed right along with it.
I felt like the rug was pulled out from under me – I went from a super successful career to feeling like I had nothing. Everything felt gray – and it wasn’t just because of the gloomy Chicago winter.

Discovering what I wanted to do when I grow up...
Even when I was back to making decent money, my career was no longer about doing the work that I loved – coaching, educating, and guiding my clients. For five very long years...
I was miserable but I was comfortable.
I was frozen by fear.
I was stuck in my comfort zone.
I finally had enough and hired my friend, a Life Coach, to help me figure out what I wanted to do with my life. That’s when it clicked:
I wanted to be a Life Coach!
Of course I did! I’ve always been the person people would go to to talk about their problems.
I remember being 18 and sitting on the floor of a Hallmark store for over an hour talking to a woman who needed a shoulder to cry on.
My mom knew it too. She said, "For as long as I can remember, Nicole has been the "Go-to Gal" for her friends for everything. She has always been able to put the "emotion" aside and offer clear thinking, common sense advice.”

And my journey as a Life Coach began…
In February of 2014, I started a coach and leadership training program, and a few weeks later, I quit my job of 13 years and went all in on building my coaching business and focusing on my next transformation.
In my program, not only did I learn how to be a coach, I got coached by one of the past graduates for the entire year!
And talk about a transformation!
In fact, I saw a video of me before my training and what I saw was a girl that looked like me. She was peppy and had a big smile on her face. And she was very animated (I mean, I am Italian after all) but there was no access to the real me.
I looked just like a porcelain doll cheerleader.
This girl had all of my features but was so protected and so armored up – you couldn’t see the real person behind the mask. She looked happy but it seemed like everything was dimmed.
But by doing the real work, I cracked open. It was like I came ALIVE!

My transformational journey will never end.
The truth is – although I’m a coach, I’m human and will always be a work in progress. My life is far from perfect, but I’m committed to working on being the best me every day. And I help my clients do the same.
I was almost 40 before I started to discover who I really was.
Deep down, I felt like a fraud – some call it Imposter Syndrome.
I felt like people saw me as somebody better than I was. I felt like they didn't really know the real me.
They saw the strong, independent, reliable, giving and happy girl who always had a smile on her face. She was rarely in a bad mood or rocked the boat, and she was always sacrificing her needs for other people.
The reality was, I didn't let people see me – not the real me. I was afraid because of all my limiting beliefs and all the negative junk that I believed about myself. Deep down, I felt like they weren't going to like or accept me.

Here are a few more things I've learned on my journey:
- Life is happening for me, not to me – look at failures as opportunities for learning and growth
- I’m the only one responsible for creating the life I want to live – to create life by intention, not by default, chance, or living on autopilot
- To make decisions based on my vision and values and not from fear or my circumstances
- When you’re happy with your “whole” life— you’ll have more energy, focus, and motivation to achieve your BIG goals and dreams. And...you’ll do it in less time and with a heck of a lot less stress!
- It’s totally possible to have it all – I deserve to live a life that makes me happy (and you do too!)
- Your health and well-being is the foundation to everything you do and everything you don’t do
Being a coach isn't just my business or my passion, it's a part of my DNA – it's who I am.
I believe I was put on this earth to use my life story and tools I’ve learned along the way to coach, educate, and provide the resources to help people live their best lives.

Imagine a world like that. How awesome would that be?
